'I thought we weren’t doing anti-Trump RINOs': Full-on MAGA meltdown triggered by VP pick
Sen. J.D. Vance (Gage Skidmore.)

Hordes of MAGA Americans appear furious with former President Donald Trump for choosing Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) as his running mate.

The Make America Great Again super PAC made this discovery Monday just moments after they released a video congratulating the Ohio senator on joining Trump on his third presidential ballot.

"I thought we weren’t doing anti Trump RINO’s this time." replied FebruaryKel, a self-described MAGA supporter and mom of three. "I am so confused."

The MAGA mom was just one among dozens of conservative Americans who confessed themselves unimpressed by Vance's political 180 from a "Never Trump guy" to one of his most active allies.

Trump supporter Ian Smith compared Vance to former Vice President Mike Pence, who refused to overturn the 2020 election in his boss's favor, was subject to chants of "hang Mike Pence" on Jan. 6, 2021 and then refused to endorse Trump's reelection bid three years later.

"Vance sounds so much like Pence, hope he turns out to be much more Trustworthy," Smith wrote. "Are you Trustworthy @JDVance1. You were a never Trumper within 5 years?"

Jaimee Mitchell, leader of the homophobic and anti-trans extremist group Gays Against Groomers, called the decision "unfortunate."

"Vance has been disloyal to Trump in the past and he’ll do it again," added @PolkaDotV65. "I’m so disappointed."

Other words used to describe the decision were "terrible," "nightmare" and "yuck."

Conservative pundit Joey Mannarino struggled to make the case to his MAGA supporters they could trust a man who once called Trump "America's Hitler."

"Who better to make the case to on-the-fence voters about how they should come onboard?" wrote Mannarino. "He’s a convert to the faith. And he’ll preach to the new choir!"

"I still don't think he was the best choice," replied Nate Pickens. "Trump has the edge and doesn't need to be pandering with his VP pick. Someone like Vivek would have been way more hardcore on reducing the swampage."

Conservatives at the Lincoln Project also slammed Vance for what they decided was a foolish decision.

"How b̶r̶a̶v̶e̶ stupid of JD Vance to accept the VP position after Trump and MAGA's treatment of the last guy," they wrote, adding a photo of the gallows erected outside the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Nor was the decision met with much celebration on the left.

"Donald Trump has been a bully for years," wrote Human Rights Campaign president Kelley Robinson. "His pick of MAGA clone JD Vance is a reminder that nothing has changed."

One eagle-eyed political spectator went viral with her suggestion that the decision was not political but economic, as the quick swap-out of two letters could potentially save Trump a packet on signs.

"Save money on campaign materials with this one simple trick," Vanessa wrote. Over the P and E in Pence's name, she scrawled a V and an A.
