QAnon cultists go wild speculating about cicada landing on Joe Biden's neck

QAnon adherents are claiming that a cicada that landed on President Joe Biden's neck is a sign of the long-promised "storm."

One of the most influential QAnon channels on the right-wing Telegram app claimed the cicada was a portent of the conspiracy theory's calamitous reckoning for Democratic elites, after the president was seen swatting away one of the clumsy bugs on the tarmac of Joint Base Andrews before flying to the U.K., reported Vice.

"Just so happens that Cicada nymphs emerge after a 17-year childhood underground!!! What? CHILD? UNDERGROUND? 17?" wrote one of the "We the Media" channel's administrators.

The Telegram channel is followed by more than 225,000 users, and the cicada post was viewed more than 23,000 times, and many users were convinced of the theory.

One user pointed out the White House press corps plane to Europe was delayed the night before by cicadas, while others believed Biden leaving the country would allow Donald Trump to return to the White House and start rounding up his political enemies.

Some users claimed the cicada was actually a drone.

"That Cicada cloud on the Radar was good for something," wrote QAnon influencer MelQ. "Or is it White Hats and their tech?"
