'A Republican who stands up for the truth': Election official’s GOP roots mean nothing as she remains bullied by her own party

Margaret Rose Bostelmann’s ideals are clear from one glance at her well-kept ranch-style house in central Wisconsin.

A large American flag is mounted near the front door, and a “We Back the Badge” sign on her front lawn announces her support for law enforcement. Bostelmann, a Wisconsin elections commissioner, said she voted for Donald Trump in 2020 and added: “I will always vote Republican. I always have.”

But her fellow Republicans have exiled her and disparaged her, sought to upend her career and, on this day in July, brought the 70-year-old to tears as she discussed what she’s been through over the last several years because she refuses to support false claims that Trump won the state in the 2020 presidential election.

'They’re hearing the message': Trump’s incendiary rhetoric linked to Utah shooting

A legal expert on Wednesday linked the fatal shooting of a Utah man by authorities amid an FBI probe of threats to President Joe Biden to Donald Trump’s incendiary rhetoric.

Former Manhattan Chief Assistant District Attorney Karen Friedman Agnifilo during an appearance on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” said she hopes the judge hearing the Jan. 6 election conspiracy case will put a stop to it.
“You hear the reporting that (Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis) has added security. You've seen the images of the added barriers and such around the Fulton County Courthouse,” guest host John King said.

“We start the program with this breaking news story out of Utah a very, very disturbing story, the FBI trying to arrest ultimately shooting a gentleman who posted online threats. He's the president, the Attorney General, the Vice President. Just from a prosecutor's perspective, that the moment you're trying to do your job and all this.”

'Where’s the bribe?' Comer slammed after months of unproven attacks on Biden

House Republican Oversight Chairman Jim Comer is increasingly coming under fire after months of his committee’s investigations, including public and private hearings, have unearthed no reported factual substantiation of his allegations and attacks against President Joe Biden.

CNN in January reported that Chairman Comer “has cast the president and his family in hyperbolic language – at times going beyond the evidence that’s publicly available. The Kentucky Republican has painted Biden as ‘A President Compromised,’ and excoriated what he calls ‘the entire Biden crime family.’ He’s pointed to a handful of contested or vague emails to suggest Joe Biden’s involvement with his family’s deals.”
