Illinois Gov. Pritzker unloads on DeSantis in blistering speech in Tampa

Illinois’ Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker delivered a blistering speech in Tampa Saturday equating Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis with former president Donald Trump and condemning him for doing more to “protect” Floridians from LGBTQ children and immigrants than from white nationalism and gun violence.

As keynote speaker at the Florida Democratic Party’s annual leadership conference, Pritzker urged Democrats to call out white nationalism and gun violence as domestic terrorism and to campaign against Republican candidates — including DeSantis — who do not.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said he plans to leave his post as the nation’s top health official by the end of President Joe Biden’s first term in office, saying the nation is going to have to live with COVID-19. “It’s for sure that I’m not going to be here in January 2025,” Fauci told Politico. Fauci insisted he wasn’t announcing his retirement but he’d be working for another 24 years if he were to stay on the job until COVID-19 was completely vanquished. “If somebody says, ‘You’ll leave when we don’t have COVID anymore,’ then I will be 105,’” Fauci, who is 81, told Politico. “I think we’re going to be ...

Steve Bannon planned an uprising for the 2016 Republican National Convention that foreshadowed the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Zelensky removes two top officials as Ukraine tries to root out Russian collaborators: report

On Monday, The New York Times reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is dismissing two top government officials, at the same time the Ukrainian government is gearing up to root out suspected Russian collaborators in the civil service.

"Mr. Zelensky alluded to the battle in a televised speech late on Sunday. In announcing the dismissal of Ivan Bakanov, the leader of Ukraine’s Security Service, and the removal of Iryna Venediktova, the prosecutor general, Mr. Zelensky noted that hundreds of treason investigations have been opened into employees of law enforcement agencies," said the report. Expect 'major violence': Joe Walsh issues MAGA warning if Trump is indicted

Today's Republican Party is in revolutionary mode. They are escalating their more than 50 years-long campaign to take away the human and civil rights of women, non-whites, the LGBTQ community, the disabled, the poor and others deemed to be the enemy in their "real America."

As the country becomes more racially diverse, younger, forward thinking and pluralistic, the American right wing is attempting to force the country back to the 19th century and the Gilded Age. Such moves are generally unpopular with the American people en masse. The Republican Party and the larger right wing movement dismiss such protests because they reject the basic principle of a true "We the People" democracy and are earnestly working to create a herrenvolk, apartheid, plutocratic, Christian fascist new America that will be ruled by a small number of white men and their allies.

Atchley Jr., who took his seat on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee less than one month before Donald Trump left office, ordered the the Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to cease implementation of the protections that are consistent with a ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court. That 2020 ruling was authored by conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch, and found anti-LGBTQ discrimination is sex discrimination and prohibited by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and by the 1972 Title IX statute.
