Donald Trump issued a last-minute pardon to Jeanine Pirro's former husband after the Fox News host complained that he hadn't been included in the final list issue before his presidency ended.
Pirro was angry that her ex-husband Albert Pirro Jr. wasn't on the list issued Wednesday morning as Trump prepared to board Air Force One for the final time to return home to Florida, and she conveyed that message to White House advisers before they left their offices, reported CNN.
A source said Albert Pirro, who had been convicted of conspiracy and tax evasion charges in a business write-off scheme, was not on Trump's radar until one of his favorite TV personalities expressed her displeasure.
Aides were told around mid-morning that the pardon must come before President Joe Biden's inauguration, which came as a total surprise to the outgoing White House staff.
The pardon, which may have been the last official act of Trump's presidency, was announced minutes after Air Force One landed by then-press secretary Judd Deere.
