President Donald Trump called on his favorite pollster to measure whether Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) had a shot at winning a U.S. Senate race against incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) – and to convince her to stay out.

The president's political team enlisted GOP pollster Tony Fabrizio to survey a potential matchup between the MAGA firebrand and Ossoff, and his poll found Greene would lose to the Georgia Democrat by a whopping 18 points, reported the Wall Street Journal.

"The president shared the results with Greene in a bid to discourage her from running in 2026," the Journal reported, according to sources familiar with the matter. "Trump’s team was determined to keep Greene out of the race to unseat Ossoff because they feared she wouldn’t be competitive, some of the people said."

Fabrizio also found that Greene was a less competitive challenger than Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, who has said he won't run but polled as the strongest candidate, or Kelly Loeffler, who lost a January 2021 special election to Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA).

The 50-year-old Greene posted last week that she would not seek a Senate seat, blaming the "uniparty," and she took shots at Fabrizio when asked by the Journal to comment on Trump's alleged role in the effort to keep her out of the race.

“To my knowledge, a lot of this was private conversation, and apparently is being leaked," Greene said. "[The poll] was done by Tony Fabrizio, who has refused to work for me because he says he has a conflict, which means he’s working for someone against me.”

The GOP lawmaker then criticized Trump's consultants.

“The same people telling Trump I can’t win a general [election] are the same people that get filthy rich off consulting on as many campaigns they can get the president to endorse,” she said.
