Reacting to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) filing a resolution to oust Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), CNN host Jim Acosta called what is currently happening in the Republican-controlled House nothing less than a "hot mess."
Greene's power move, coming as the 2024 election looms, has now thrown Republicans ready to leave for a two-week vacation into chaos, reported CNN's Manu Raju who questioned if it will come to a vote soon.
"This vote may not happen until they return, that is a question," he told Acosta. "Because the Republican leadership, while this has always been a threat, was not anticipating this happening right now."

"On the floor of the House has been a scene of chaos," he continued. "A lot of Republicans were concerned, urging Marjorie Taylor Greene not to move forward."
"She did instead because of this spending bill and her belief that Mike Johnson did not go far enough cutting and getting concessions as well as the process of unveiling this bill yesterday morning at 3 a.m. and pushing this through the House today to avoid that shutdown deadline by midnight tonight."

He later added, "But Jim just another state of chaos in this Republican House, and we'll see ultimately how the speaker deals with this and how Republicans vote when this comes to the floor."
