Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) vowed Wednesday to go through with an attempt to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) with a so-called "motion to vacate" next week.
An animated Greene clarified her intentions at a press conference outside the U.S. Capitol. But she noted that Democrats were poised to save Johnson's speakership.
"Well, I find it very satisfying that they are ready to vote for Mike Johnson," she said. "And you want to know something? I want to see it happen."

"And so next week, I am going to be calling this motion to vacate, absolutely calling it," she continued. "I can't wait to see Democrats go out and support a Republican speaker and have to go home to their primaries and have to run for Congress again, having supported a Republican speaker, a Christian conservative."
With a raised voice, Greene responded to a question asking if she was being responsible with the motion to vacate.
"I'm not irresponsible!" she exclaimed. "I care about my conference. I have been measured. I have given this time. I have given warning after warning after warning."
