Republicans may not be able to defund the FBI as punishment for searching Mar-a-Lago, but they do intend to exact some revenge on the agency's leadership.

GOP lawmakers have threatened a variety of investigations and oversight hearings, but Republicans themselves are split on how to claw back the FBI's reach and funding, although few have publicly agreed with calls from Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Marjorie Taylor Greene to defund the law enforcement agency, reported Politico.

Appearing on MSNBC early Sunday morning, former GOP campaign strategist Rick Wilson dropped the hammer on Republicans such as Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) who are campaigning on a promise to turn the US into a "Christian nation."

Reacting to a Politico report on the rise of Christian nationalism among the far-right, Wilson said the Republican Party and far-right evangelicals will rue the day they made this their rallying cry.

A woman picked to sit in on Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's staged town-hall styled rollout of the House GOP's latest "Commitment to America," complained to the California lawmaker that a "new" program, "social emotional learning," which teaches children to have greater self esteem, and be aware of their emotions and those of others, is "Marxist."

Social Emotional Learning, or "SEL," is not new, it was developed starting in the 1960s at the Yale University School of Medicine.

During his 2020 campaign, former President Donald Trump made a point of being vague when discussing the far-right QAnon movement. Trump refrained from overtly promoting QAnon and its conspiracy theories, but he wouldn’t say anything critical of them either and claimed that he “didn’t know much about” their movement.

Times have changed. Trump is now openly promoting QAnon and is using exact phrases associated with the group, including “the storm” and their slogan “where we go one, we go all.” And Trump is hardly the only MAGA Republican who is embracing QAnon.

On Wednesday's edition of former Trump adviser Steve Bannon's podcast "War Room," Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) slammed Senate Majority Mitch McConnell (R-KY) — and outlined how she believes voters in Arizona could end his career.

This comes as McConnell has butted heads with Trump on candidate choices in key races around the country, and in particular pulled all support from the far-right Senate candidate in Arizona, venture capitalist Blake Masters.

WASHINGTON — Conservative Republicans gathered outside the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday to commit to bringing legislation to the floor that would make it a felony to perform gender-affirming care on transgender youth, should the GOP take control of the U.S. House following the November midterm elections.

“How on earth can this be happening in America? It’s hard to even understand,” said Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the main sponsor of the bill, referring to gender-affirming medical treatments sometimes used by transgender and nonbinary people, including minors.

The Protect Children's Innocence Act, which attracted 37 Republican co-sponsors, would prohibit puberty blockers or other medication, surgery and additional gender-affirming treatment as a felony comparable to child abuse, and opened up anyone who provides such care to civil liability.

Republicans have already been measuring the curtains of the House Speaker's office with the anticipation of there being a so-called "red wave" in November that ushers in many new Republican members of the House of Representatives.

At the start of the year, once redistricting had settled, Republican leader Kevin McCarthy bragged that they would take over at least 60 seats. That has significantly been reduced, however.

More than 50 House and Senate Republicans are joining in an effort to disenfranchise "lame duck" Democrats in the House and Senate to prevent them from voting on critical budget legislation, but not trying to apply the same standard to their fellow GOP lawmakers.

In a move that sounds somewhat like what Senator Mitch McConnell did to derail Merrick Garland's Supreme Court appointment, the far right Republicans are urging their colleagues to block any budget bill until a new Congress is sworn in, hoping Democrats lose control of one or both branches of Congress.
