PHILADELPHIA — A former Bucks County woman who sparked national outrage 13 years ago by falsely claiming she had been kidnapped when she had actually gone to Walt Disney World, is back in trouble with the law. Bonnie Sweeten, once called a "master con woman" by a federal judge, has been charged in connection with a scheme to steal from an employer who was trying to give her a second chance, U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. UC San Diego administrators have publicly apologized to students for the "disrespectful and racist remarks" that a lecturer recently made during an undergraduate class in chemistry. Independent candidate Evan McMullin went after Sen. Mike Lee in the Utah Senate debate Monday, for his role in the Jan. 6 attempt to go after Congress and overthrow the 2020 election. Lee was part of those who were texting with the White House that he was ready to do whatever it took to help Trump win, but unlike most of the Trump allies in the Senate, he wouldn't speak out publicly.

Lee encouraged top Trump advisers to bring in Sidney Powell, a Republican lawyer who has since been thrown out of Trump's legal pool and sanctioned by a court in Michigan for lying in a court filing.

New York (AFP) - Disgraced movie star Kevin Spacey takes the stand at his New York trial, rejecting as "not true" accusations he sexually assaulted fellow actor Anthony Rapp when he was a minor.

Rapp, who stars in the series "Star Trek: Discovery," is claiming damages of $40 million against the two-time Oscar-winner for "emotional anguish," for what allegedly happened in 1986, when he was 14 and Spacey was 26.

Radioactive waste 22 times the legal limit discovered on Missouri Kindergarten playground

A Missouri elementary school outside of St. Louis found "unacceptable" levels of radioactive contamination due to waste from creating the first atomic bomb in the 1940s, an independent report from the Boston Chemical Data Corporation explained.

Man accepts a reward from police by saying cops 'don't keep us safe'

Alex Mingus was given the Award for Valor for saving a man who'd been shot. As he took the stage to speak after getting an award from the St. Paul police chief, he had a clear message: “I just want folks to know that they don’t keep us safe."

Pioneer Press reported that Mingus said that individuals like him keep the communities safe. He noted that while he was helping a shooting victim bleeding on the ground he watched as about nine squad cars drove by. He tried to flag them down but didn't want to stop the pressure on the wound.
