FBI official says field office agents are whining about prosecuting Jan. 6 attackers: Nicolle Wallace

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace started her show Monday with an exclusive bit of information that FBI field offices are staffed with agents miffed over the prosecutions of the Jan. 6 attackers, feeling that what they did was nothing more than misdemeanors. It was reported last week by NBC News that one former FBI official sent a letter to Paul Abbate, who is now the No. 2 official at the bureau.

According to the former official speaking to Wallace, the agents in field offices don't think prosecuting the Jan. 6 defendants is all that important, but they're doing it anyway.

I was so fascinated by needles, I used to find — my dad was a physician. I used to find these needles in his desk. And I noticed those little holes in the top of the orange. Where the pores are. I would put the needle through the pore and get orange juice out. Then I noticed one day that my sister's head had little pores in it too."

Ron DeSantis rally crowd cheers louder for tax-free pet food than tax-free goods for children

Florida's Ron DeSantis (R) spoke to a crowd on Sunday, just a few weeks before the election, using some of the key attacks he's crafted over the past year, like his decision to go after one of the state's largest employers, Disney. But at one point, the crowd seemed to be excited about one of the GOP government hands outs.

"And so, if you have your family doing, especially with this crushing Biden-flation, if you're raising kids, we're going to give pertinent tax exclusion — no sales tax on diapers, wipes, cribs, strollers, the whole nine yards, raising kids is going to be tax-free in the state of Florida," said DeSantis to small cheers.

Trump's appointed special counsel has another humiliating day in court as judge tosses some charges

This hasn't been a good week for Donald Trump-appointed special counsel John Durham as he attempts to go after his only real prosecutions around the Russia probe. Trump had appointed Durham to "investigate the investigators," claiming that former special counsel Robert Mueller was corrupt in his handling of the Russia investigation.

While that hasn't worked out, Durham has been relegated to search for lower-level crimes he can prosecute like lying to the FBI. Such is the case with this week's trial for longtime confidential informant for the FBI, Igor Danchenko.

'Kraken' lawyer Sidney Powell has raised $16.4 million off of election lies — but where's that money going?

Denying the 2020 election continues to be good business for members of the far-right who promote the conspiracy that there was some kind of nefarious fraud. While she's never been able to find proof of widespread fraud, Sidney Powell has been able to bring in $16.4 million in a "nonprofit" group that claims it works to "protect election integrity," said the Washington Post.

Powell worked for free after the 2020 election to launch lawsuits against states with false claims that has landed her in some legal trouble of her own. While the work may have been free, she's been able to pull in millions in "donations" with no real way of knowing where the funds are going. Is Powell pocketing the cash? How much of is is being spent on legal filings and how much is being spent on her own billable hours?
