There's a significant spike in ultra-violent right-wing threats against teachers supporting LGBTQ+ rights

The conservative claim that liberals are engaged in a campaign to “groom” children has resulted in a flood of violent threats, according to a new analysis.

Vice News cited a new report by Advance Democracy, Inc. about an increase in violent comments from conservatives referring to anyone supportive of LGBTQ equality as "groomers." The word is supposed to mean a pedophile preparing to make a child into an abuse victim, but conservatives are now using the term to describe efforts to educate students about gender identity or sexual orientation.

The View's Sunny Hostin calls BS when Mike Pence aide claims he’s 'coming around' to LGBT people

"The View" discussed the recent comments by former Vice President Mike Pence that he would say "I love you," if his son came out as gay. According to former Pence staffer Alyssa Farrah, she thinks he "is coming around" when it comes to LGBTQ rights.

"I advised a number of Republicans, and one issue that I have -- or two issues I've told them across the board, you will lose the younger generation if you do not come around on marriage equality and climate change," said Farrah. "The country's mind is made up. I'm someone who believes you can believe what you want in your church. I'm Episcopalian. I have certain beliefs in my church, but it is the law of the land you can marry who you love, and it's a good thing. And I see a little bit — I watch that clip and I think Mike Pence might be coming around a little bit."

US food supply is being disrupted by Greg Abbott’s delivery trucks battle at Texas border: White House

A long trail of delivery trucks are backed up at the U.S.-Mexico border because the Texas governor is refusing to allow them to come into the United States without additional inspections by the Texas state troopers. Typically it's the federal government that inspects trucks. The decision is creating a massive backup at the border.

The Texas Tribune reported this week that the busiest trade crossing, the bridge connecting Pharr and Reynosa is the choke point. On the border Monday, the trucks were backed up for miles. It was the fifth day in a row they were dealing with the blockage. As a result, producer importers canceled orders.

DOJ indicates Trump National Archives documents are part of an 'open criminal investigation'

It was reported in February that former President Donald Trump was caught taking 15 large boxes of documents from the White House to his home at Mar-a-Lago when he left office. The National Archives sent a team to Palm Beach, Florida to collect the truckload of information it discovered was missing last summer.

Last week, House Oversight chair Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY) asked for the documents as part of a Congressional probe. She explained that she's attempted to work with the DOJ to obtain the information, but her letter said that they had been "interfering." Some of the documents were listed as classified information at the top-secret level.

International trade stopped at Texas border crossings as truckers protest Greg Abbott's new inspection demands

Commercial traffic at a key South Texas border crossing has stopped after Mexican truckers on Monday blocked north- and southbound lanes on the Mexico side of the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge in protest of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s decision to have state troopers inspect northbound commercial vehicles — historically a job done by the federal government.

The bridge connecting Pharr and Reynosa is the busiest trade crossing in the Rio Grande Valley and handles the majority of the produce that crosses into the U.S. from Mexico, including avocados, broccoli, peppers, strawberries and tomatoes. On Monday, with trucks backed up for miles in Reynosa for the fifth day in a row, some produce importers in Texas said they have waited days for their goods to arrive and already had buyers cancel orders.
