'TIL Don Jr. is a furry': Eldest Trump son mocked after posting Easter meme with armed bunnies

Donald Trump Jr. is being mocked for an Easter meme he posted of people dressed as bunnies and holding guns and wearing grenades. The eldest Trump son used the image on Instagram while wishing people "Happy Easter." Easter is generally the holiest of days, and when Christians celebrate the leader of their church. The faith believes that the death of Christ ensured all sin was eradicated from those who believe. It is often characterized as the greatest act of love, earning Christ the title of the Savior.

Don Jr. took a different approach. Easter coincides with the pagan spring fertility festival, in which people come out of the darkness of winter and celebrate. Rabbits and bird eggs symbolize that fertility. There is also a link to hard-boiled eggs that Judaism uses as an element of a Passover Seder. While Christians ultimately began dying eggs, both previously listed practices pre-date Christianity. So, Trump Jr. embraced the pagan tradition with the added twist of death and destruction.

Far-right Nevada school board candidate claims the Constitution mandates people procreate — so gayness is unconstitutional

The school board wars continue as the far-right seeks to take over schools to restrict content involving people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals and others to whom they object.

Such was the case with Nevada candidate John Carlo, who was filmed speaking at a church saying that the U.S. Constitution demands Americans procreate. He explained that because homosexuals can't give birth that they are unconstitutional. He did not address whether heterosexual couples who are unable to have children are also "unconstitutional" under his definition.

Container ship owned by the company that got stuck in the Suez freed after being stuck in the US for a month

Last year, the Suez Canal was blocked when the Ever Given, one of the world's largest container ships, ran aground. It clogged commerce for six days. A year later, the exact same thing happened again with a ship from the Evergreen Marine Corporation, but this time it was in the Chesapeake Bay.

The ship, the Ever Forward, has sat for a month, stuck and delivery of the containers was delayed. According to The Guardian, the ship was freed on Sunday after two barges and five tugboats tried for a third time to pull the ship out of the bay. They'd worked on the effort before, removing 500 of the 5,000 containers hoping it would lighten the load and raise the ship from the bottom.

Republican Party officially mandates all GOP candidates sign oath they'll only appear at 'authorized' debates

The Republican Party held a vote Thursday to officially mandate all of their presidential candidates agree that they'll only appear at RNC-sanctioned primary and general election debates, the Wall Street Journal reported.

There has been an ongoing battle between the Commission on Presidential Debates and the Republican Party because former President Donald Trump didn't like the moderators in previous events. Trump was angered in 2020 by Fox host Chris Wallace, who asked difficult questions and tried to shut down Trump's rambling over time. Trump became enraged after it was proposed that the moderator would have a "mute" button for Trump once he went over time and they'd cut his microphone.

The View's Joy Behar noted that there was trouble in paradise on Fox News this week as prime-time hosts debated whether or not they should continue to support Dr. Mehmet Oz, running for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania as a Republican. Trump endorsed Oz, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity Wednesday night that the doctor had a highly rated show, which translates into votes.

"He — I believe endorsed Oz, and, you know, I think that's, you know, that's probably not inconsequential for President Trump," said Laura Ingraham. "You wouldn't answer the question whether it was a mistake. I think it was a mistake to endorse Oz. I'll say it. I'm not afraid to say it. It was a mistake to endorse Oz."
