President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law was confused when speaking to Fox News Sunday. While most cable news stations are focusing on Hurricane Ida making landfall, Fox is still absorbed with Afghanistan.

She began by attacking President Joe Biden, who received the caskets at Dover. Ironically, she made the attack while demanding that the country be unified.

To hear his attorney tell it, accused rioter Kyle Fitzsimons was merely "caught up in the frenzy of the rally and protest" when Donald Trump incited his followers to storm the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

It is a defense that first started getting noticed in the weeks following the insurrection. But even though Trump certainly incited the riot that day, it's not clear that it is a winning argument when it comes to the exoneration of the rioters.

School board leaders are bailing across the country because they don't want to deal with angry parents spreading conspiracy theories about COVID and masks.

The Associated Press wrote Sunday about one Nevada school board member who was feeling suicidal. Another, in Virginia, resigned after the mask fights. A Wisconsin member was scared someone would slash his tires if his car was in the parking lot. Most school board members are unpaid. They're volunteers who care about their children and the community. So, when they're attacked non-stop by people losing it over masks, it doesn't seem worth it.

It's mere weeks before the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center that killed thousands and has slowly killed rescue and first responders who worked on the pile in the aftermath.

Michigan lawyer David Fink was the lawyer who filed the complaint against pro-Donald Trump lawyers Sidney Powell, Lin Wood and Rudy Giuliani, and on Wednesday his efforts were successful. A federal judge ordered sanctions for the self-described "Kraken" lawyers who worked to overturn the 2020 election through fruitless lawsuits that were dismissed.

Speaking to MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, Fink explained that sanctions like this are extraordinarily rare. He noted that the first thing that this ruling means is that Powell and her colleagues must pay the attorneys fees for the city and state because they were forced to pay to defend against the claims.
