Convicted Trump adviser Peter Navarro is asking to be allowed to leave the country for medical purposes.
As reported by Law and Crime's Brandi Buchman, Navarro late last week asked permission from the United States District Court for the District of Columbia to travel abroad to undergo an undisclosed medical procedure.
"It is unclear why the 74-year-old’s procedure would require travel outside of the U.S. but through his attorney, Stanley Woodward, he indicated in the four-page motion he would only be out of the U.S. from Oct. 15 to Oct. 23," writes Buchman.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
Navarro was convicted earlier this year of criminal contempt of Congress after he refused to in any way cooperate with the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th attacks on the United States Capitol building.
Navarro has demanded a new trial as his attorneys allege that jurors were improperly exposed to anti-Navarro protesters outside the court when they were granted a fresh air break during deliberations.
Both Navarro and one-time White House political strategist Steve Bannon have been convicted of criminal contempt related to the January 6th Committee's activities.
