Will Hurd, the former Texas congressman who was running for president in 2024 is bowing out of the race and backing former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

“Unfortunately, it has become clear to me and my team that the time has come to suspend our campaign,” Hurd wrote in a statement.

He vowed to put his efforts to defeating the one-term 45th president, Donald Trump.

"I urge donors, voters, and other candidates to unite around an alternative candidate to Trump," he stated. "Otherwise, we will repeat the same errors as in 2016.

"If the Republican party nominates Donald Trump or the various personalities jockeying to imitate his divisive, crass behavior, we will lose."

Hurd, who was sent to Washington back in 2014 to serve constituents in the southwestern portion of Texas — which runs north of the Rio Grande — didn't run again in 2020.

His name failed to gain much wattage in a crowded field amongst 13 candidates seeking to become the next commander-in-chief.

To continue his political efforts from the civilian sidelines, the once undercover CIA operative, confirmed he is putting all of his support behind Haley.

He painted Haley, who served in the Trump administration as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, as the best hope to defeat Trump at the ballot box.

"I believe Ambassador Nikki Haley is the best person in this race to do that. Ambassador Haley has shown a willingness to articulate a different vision for the country than Donald Trump and has an unmatched grasp on the complexities of our foreign policy," Hurd wrote in his statement.

"I wholeheartedly endorse Ambassador Haley and look forward to supporting her for the remainder of this race.”
