Reacting to a New York Times report that billionaire and Donald Trump confidante Elon Musk and Secretary of State Marco Rubio engaged in a shouting match at the White House, former RNC chair Michael Steele urged the former Florida senator to stand his ground.

On Friday the Times reported the two argued after Musk complained that Rubio hadn't fired enough State Department staffers, with the Times' Maggie Haberman reporting Trump seemed to enjoy the squabble.

On Sunday morning, the entire panel on MSNBC's "The Weekend" laughed at the behind-the-scenes White House drama.

Co-host Steele took it a step further after colleague Alicia Menedez humorously compared the fight to a scene out of the teen comedy "Mean Girls."

With Symone Sanders Townsend proclaiming " What is really going on here, Marco Rubio? Stand on business, sir. I will back you up on that," co-host Steele jumped in.

"I back you up too, Marco. You're my man, do your thing, bro," Steele interjected. "Just, you know, don't let this fool punk you. You know, you stand your ground. You're the secretary of state and he is no one in this government –– period. He has a made-up title in a 180-day position –– period. And so the fact that, you know, he tries to call you out in the Cabinet meeting, you were right to push back."

"And other cabinet members should do the same," he continued. "Y'all can't do this in silence. You have to make sure that you are the one running your department. Donald Trump even came out and said as much, but, you know, this truth social tweet that, you know, 'we're all good here.'"

"No, you're not all good, no, you're not all good," he repeated. "And the fact that you love the fight, it's your whole game, because when they're fighting you feel more powerful, Trump. That is your aphrodisiac among other things that are stupid."
