Trump fantasizes about coming after Biden if immunity claim thrown out of court

After appearing in court on Tuesday morning, Donald Trump took to his social media site to claim that if there is no such thing as absolute presidential immunity, then Joe Biden can be prosecuted for anything Trump wants if he wins.

"Just finished a very productive Federal Appeals Court Hearing, in Washington, D.C., on whether or not a President should have Immunity," Trump wrote with randomly capitalized letters. He went on to say that special counsel Jack Smith also attended the proceeding.

"The other side conceded two very important points, either of which would give the critical Immunity argument to us," wrote Trump. "If for any reason it were held that a President doesn’t have Immunity, then Crooked Joe Biden, after he leaves Office, could be charged for the horrible and dangerous job he is doing on the Southern Border, the Afghanistan Disaster with all of its Death, Destruction, and “Surrender,” or his quid pro quo on Ukraine, where he said, on tape, that if they don’t get rid of an Unfriendly Prosecutor, they don’t get the $1 Billion in Funding from the United States (He then clapped his hands, and said, in effect, 'I won.'")

Trump doesn't mention what criminal charges could be leveled against Biden.

One of the arguments made in the court hearing Tuesday, and among legal analysts, was that if a president has absolute immunity, someone like Biden, for example, could call on S.E.A.L. Team 6 to assassinate whoever he wants, including Trump. He could throw Trump in jail for no reason without consequence.

Giving presidents such absolute power is what Trump is seeking, apparently without realizing that it would put him in a no-win situation.
