In the wake of a Christmas message from Donald Trump that sparked national backlash, a former GOP member of Congress questioned the former president's religious beliefs.

Ex-Rep. Adam Kinzinger responded Tuesday to Trump's Truth Social rant condemning President Joe Biden, Special Counsel Jack Smith and all those he blamed for the criminal charges he has called, and did call again on Christmas, a "witch hunt."

"I'm going to go out on a NOT limb here," Kinzinger wrote. "This man is not a Christian."

Kinzinger spoke directly to his Christian followers in his dismissal of the former president.

"If you are a Christian who supports him, you don't understand your own religion, Kinzinger wrote. "Trump is weak, meager, smelly, victim-ey, belly-achey, but he ain't a Christian and he's not 'Gods man.'"

Trump's message ended with the words "rot in hell," and threatened impending doom on a day when most political leaders speak of peace.

"Merry Christmas to all, including Crooked Joe Biden's ONLY HOPE, Deranged Jack Smith, the out of control Lunatic who just hired outside attorneys, fresh from the SWAMP (unprecedented!), to help him with his poorly executed WITCH HUNT against 'TRUMP' and 'MAGA,'" Trump wrote in his Truth Social post.

"Included also are World Leaders, both good and bad, but none of which are as evil and "sick" as the THUGS we have inside our Country who, with their Open Borders, INFLATION, Afghanistan Surrender, Green New Scam, High Taxes, No Energy Independence, Woke Military, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Iran, All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, are looking to destroy our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!" Trump continued.
