Trump was challenged by his former GOP foe in former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley to win over her supporters.

And it may prove to be a tough sell.

“It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support [him]. And I hope he does that,” Haley said when she officially suspended her run for president.

CNN's Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room" pointed out there are 'warning signs in winning with both men facing distinct challenges of rebuilding their coalitions."

That had Political Director David Chalian seeing a minefield for the Trump campaign to shore up the independents and Haley's base to support MAGA camp by November 5.

"The Trump campaign by clearly being aware they want to appeal to some of those Haley voters shows that they are on a dual strategy," he said. "Yes, they want to expand the electorate and the MAGA base, but they also understand because it's not just Haley voters as some mythical thing."

He continued: "What she represents Independent voters and Trump resistant Republicans — they need those as part of the polled here as a game of addition."

He spoke to Virginia and North Carolina exit poll numbers suggesting that the majority of Haley supporters aren't an automatic Republican vote and could end up voting anybody but Trump.

"...there is a sizable enough bloc that we see in each one of these contests of the Haley voters that present a challenge to the Trump campaign if they are going to rebuild the kind of coalition that proved victorious for them," he said on the political panel.
