Regret, anger, insincerity, and more emotions were being felt by GOP candidates as they stood on stage at the second Republican debate on Wednesday, according to a body language expert.
Body language expert Dr. Jack Brown, who recently said General Motors CEO Mary Barra was displaying manipulation in an interview, analyzed the looks and motions of various candidates on the Fox stage. In some instances, Brown said, candidates used motions that are not typically used.
Brown began by suggesting that Vivek Ramaswamy's "opening camera shot" reveals "an insincere smile."
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
"Note his Jaw Thrust forward and the display of his lower teeth — both components are contradictory to sincere smiling," the expert added.
Brown went on to analyze former vice president Mike Pence, who he said "displays an expression of regret (with a component of anger) immediately after he's introduced."
Regarding Sen. Tim Scott, Brown had this to say.
"Note Tim Scott's unusual right hand gesture — a partial and relatively tight fist as he gestures when talking about Unions and that he feels workers are asking too much," the analyst noted. "This subject angers Scott."
Brown then added:
"As Tim Scott talks about the U.S. Mexican border, note his forehead muscles contract upward — while his eyelids partially closed. When these two juxtaposed muscle groups contract simultaneously, it's a strong signal of deception."
