Donald Trump Friday issued an all-caps rebuttal to New York Attorney General Letitia James’ closing argument with claims her new $370 million damages demand is proof of a Department of Justice witch hunt.

“I DID NOTHING WRONG, MY FINANCIAL STATEMENTS ARE GREAT, & VERY CONSERVATIVE,” Trump writes.

“THE CORRUPT A.G. WANTS $370,000,000 AS BUSINESSES FLEE NEW YORK. THEY SHOULD PAY ME. THIS IS PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT—A DOJ WITCH HUNT!”

There are a few problems with Trump’s theory: namely, as her title suggests, New York Attorney General James is not a member of the federal Justice Department, but the head of her state's Department of Law.

It’s also worth noting James filed her accusations in a state civil court, while special counsel Jack Smith — the prosecutor who accuses Trump of attempting to overturn the 2020 election and of illegally storing classified documents — filed his in federal criminal courts.

James' case claims Trump and his associates defrauded investors and banks for inflating the value of his properties. Both sides filed their closing arguments in court Friday.

In a follow-up post, Trump gave the caps-lock a much-needed rest.

“No Victims, No Crime, Great Financial Statements,” Trump said. “Letitia James is doing this to me."
