So far, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has secured plea agreements from three of the 19 defendants in the Georgia election racketeering case: Scott Hall, a bail bondsman involved in the breach of election equipment in Coffee County, Sidney Powell, a Donald Trump attorney also involved in that plot, and Kenneth Chesebro, another Trump attorney who outlined the fake electors plot.
According to Atlanta First News, this could just be the beginning — and legal experts have their eye on a small handful of other people who could be flipped against Trump himself.
Savannah-based attorney Amy Lee Copeland told reporters, “The next people who would be the logical choices to plea are Cathy Latham and Misty Hampton from the Coffee County scheme. People turn in other people and make [the case] spread."
Latham, in addition to being involved in the Coffee County breach, was one of the 16 fake electors who falsely certified an electoral victory for Trump.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
Copeland added that one thing that would make this more likely is if Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee "set a deadline."
“Lawyers love to kick the can down the road," said Copeland. "With no time pressure its going to be difficult to have people willing to talk about negotiations unless the DA is offering incredible deals.”
All of this comes as McAfee schedules a hearing on whether to quash subpoenas of ballot information filed by attorneys representing Harrison Floyd, the former "Black Voices for Trump" leader accused of participating in the campaign of harassment against Atlanta elections worker Ruby Freeman.
