The startling withdrawal of two of Donald Trump's most prominent attorneys within 24 hours after he was indicted by the Department of Justice is drawing increasing scrutiny into the turmoil that continually surrounds the former president's legal team.
Following the bombshell announcement by special counsel Jack Smith, Trump announced on Truth Social that attorneys Jim Trusty and John Rowley would be replaced by Todd Blanche who is also handling the former president's tax fraud case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
As MSNBC host Katie Phang wrote, it doesn't make sense to change lawyers now that the case is headed to a Florida court and, to her, "Trump’s efforts to revamp his legal team are about as futile as rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic as long as his lawyers cannot defend Trump from … himself."
That falls in line with a report from The Messenger, which reported the former president is having problems lining up legal representation in Florida where Trump is known to be a "nightmare client."

According to MSNBC's Phang, Trusty and Rowley are also walking away from another Trump case.
"The fact that both lawyers are also resigning from the Jan. 6 investigation doesn’t make sense, either. What does an indictment’s being filed in Miami have to do with that investigation by Smith? And why did both lawyers resign? Were they a package deal?" she wrote before suggesting, "Lots of head scratchers here, but the least confusing thing is the fact that nothing is ever normal or rational in Trump Legal World."
