Donald Trump's biographer on Sunday highlighted what stood out to him about the president's financial data release.
Tim O'Brien, who spent massive amounts of time with Trump before writing TrumpNation: The Art of Being the Donald, appeared on MSNBC on Sunday to discuss the release.
The host asked him what stood out, and he first noted how much "garbage" Trump was willing to slap his name on, such as guitars.'
He added that Trump is "degrading the brand value of both the White House and the presidency by slapping his name on anything anybody will pay him a fee for."
He went on to highlight something to "really keep our minds focused on," namely crypto.
"Donald Trump is putting the federal government's powers behind the substantiation of crypto trading, platforming as an asset. He is moving the regulatory apparatus in the direction of supporting crypto while his family members have investments both in tokens and in exchanges and other parts of the architecture of the crypto business," he said Sunday. "And it's just a raw financial conflict of interest and another measure of how far we've fallen."
