MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow on Tuesday broke down how Michael Flynn wasn't the only person linked to Donald Trump who lied about a conversation involving relaxing sanctions on Russia.

Maddow wondered why Flynn was motivated to lie about discussing sanctions, when that was part of his portfolio as Donald Trump's incoming National Security Advisor.

"It wouldn't be that weird," Maddow noted.

"Nevertheless, he lied about it publicly and he lied about it to the FBI," "And that honestly makes no sense if they were innocent policy discussions about sanctions and he's the incoming advisor who's going to be working on that stuff."

"You wouldn't need to keep that stuff secret, you wouldn't even need to try in keep it secret," she noted.

"Unless, perhaps, those sanctions discussions were maybe linked to something that really truly couldn't get out and had to be kept secret," Maddow noted. "And it certainly couldn't be disclosed to the FBI."

"It wasn't just Mike Flynn who lied about those sanctions discussions," Maddow.

Maddow noted emails proved multiple senior administration officials knew about Flynn's conversations with Russia.

Flynn's top deputy, K.T. McFarland reportedly knew. As did Reince Priebus, Stephen Bannon, Sean Spicer and Tom Bossert.

"They all knew at the time -- at the time -- that Flynn was talking to the Russian government about sanctions during the transition," Maddow noted.

"They all knew it, while he was doing it -- and while Flynn was lying about doing it," Maddow concluded.

Not just staff, but Vice President Mike Pence.

Maddow also detailed how Pence lied about Russia and likely lied about not knowing about Flynn being compromised and his Turkish contract.
