On Tuesday, President Donald Trump held his address to the nation. During his speech, Trump argued that a wall at the US-Mexico border is "critical" for national security.
He also continued the same narrative that a border wall will keep Americans safe from drugs and terrorists. Trump blamed Democrats for the three-week-old government shutdown and urged them to pass funding for his border wall.
After his speech, CNN's Chris Cuomo said that Trump's address was not compelling. He also mentioned that the "wall of misinformation" is confusing to Americans.
"What is on the border right now, it's exactly what the president is describing to you, except he's telling you it's his design. How are the American people supposed to grasp the reality?" he said.
"He says 'I want a new wall,' but there will be no new wall. The Democrats say 'he's never going to get his wall,' but there is a wall that they have agreed to finance in the past but they won't agree to finance a new wall," Cuomo said.
