On Friday, NBC4 Washington's Scott MacFarlane reported that lawyers had to move to mute the audio of Capitol rioter Lonnie Coffman as he complained about the medical care and accommodations he has received in jail while awaiting trial.

Coffman, an elderly man from Alabama, left an "unbalanced" call to the office of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and drove to the senator's house. He also was found to have firearms and a large collection of Molotov cocktails in his pickup truck that he drove to the Capitol on January 6th.
Prior reports indicated that he was willing to make a deal due to medical issues he was experiencing in lockup.
The conditions at the Washington, D.C. jail where many of the Capitol rioters are awaiting trial have come under scrutiny by federal authorities, although some experts have raised questions about why the problems at the facility were ignored until the rioters began to complain about them.
