Michael Cohen buddy Donny Deutsch ‘saw the obstruction of justice in real-time’
One of Michael Cohen's close friends says he had a front-row seat to see President Donald Trump commit obstruction -- and may even be interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller as a fact witness.
Donny Deutsch joined MSNBC's "Deadline: White House" with Nicolle Wallace on Wednesday to discuss Cohen postponing testimony to the House Oversight Committee after attacks from President Donald Trump.
"Is Cohen legitimately afraid for his safety and that of his family?" Wallace asked.
"I'll give it to you in real-time, because I had a front-row seat," Deutsch replied. "I happened to speak to Michael after the interview. He said, 'I'm not doing it, I'm not testifying. My wife is sitting here crying. They're calling out my poor father-in-law, 80-something, a man who's never done anything.'"
"I literally saw the obstruction of justice in real-time," Deutsch noted.
"There are other threats happening also, that happen every day that magnified a thousand-fold. The things he gets written to about his daughter that are so heinous -- just since he started to talk about testifying in Congress," he explained.
Despite the attacks, Deutsch said that Cohen still intends to openly testify to Congress before he begins his 3 year prison sentence in March.
"He almost wants to puke it out of him," Deutsch said.
"He wants to come puke it out on our table, we'll host any day," Wallace joked.
"He doesn't really want to puke it out, he wants to tell the story," Deutsch clarified.
"Honestly, for all of the dirty things he did, out of what he's now acknowledged was stupid, blind loyalty to Donald Trump, I could imagine he feels like he wants to puke it out," Wallace added.
Deutsch also revealed that MSNBC legal analyst and former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner told him he might be called as a witness due to his friendship with Cohen.
