Twenty months after Kawaski Trawick was shot and killed by an officer, the New York Police Department has disclosed the nearly full footage of what happened. It shows not only the shooting itself, which the department released footage of last month, but also the minutes afterward.

Other officers converged on the building in the Bronx after the officer who fired at Trawick reported “shots fired." Many of the arriving officers activated body-worn cameras, which captured what they said.

Demonstrators march on Chicago gun violence after bloody 2020

Demonstrators marched through the frigid streets of Chicago Thursday in memory of victims of gun violence, which rose dramatically in the third-largest US city in 2020.

Police in the Windy City recorded 762 homicides in 2020, up 55 percent from 2019, according to a December 27 count. Shootings rose 53 percent, to 3,227 from 2,120 in the city of 2.7 million.

Three French police shot dead by domestic violence suspect

Three police officers were killed and a fourth wounded in central France on Wednesday by a gunman they confronted in response to a domestic violence call, the deadliest attack in years on French law enforcement outside of terrorism incidents.

The suspect, a 48-year-old man known to authorities for child custody disputes, was "discovered dead" several hours after fleeing the home in an isolated hamlet near Saint-Just, a village of some 160 people south of the city of Clermont-Ferrand, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said in a tweet.
