'The BS we’ve had to deal with’: MSNBC analyst flattens Corey Lewandowski as he tries to defend Trump’s national emergency
Former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski repeatedly mislead MSNBC views about basic facts during a Monday appearance on "Hardball" with Chris Matthew.
Matthews invited Lewandowski on despite the fact he reportedly signed a nondisclosure agreement that prevents him from saying anything negative about Trump.
Lewandowski was joined by Charlie Sykes, a longtime conservative talk radio host and MSNBC contributor.
Sykes noted Trump's shutdown was "for the wall that Mexico was going to pay for -- which is now a Venetian blind."
"The wall is a depreciating asset for the president, because it's a cost and unnecessary boondoggle that would be ineffective, that he has surrounded with a bodyguard of lies because he is constantly changed the rationale for it," Sykes noted.
Trump has lashed out at journalists for reporting the facts that undermine his claim there is a crisis at the southern border.
"If this is such a good idea, why are there so many lies about it?" Sykes asked. "Why do they misrepresent it? Look, there's no crisis at the border."
Lewandowski attempted to defend Trump's shutdown for his wall and repeated debunked claims by Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen.
"Look, this is the BS we've had to deal with," Sykes noted.
"Facts are inconvenient things," he added.
