An angry resident of Sarasota, Florida this week falsely accused an openly gay school board member of being a "groomer" during a heated meeting.

Local news station SNN TV reported that Sarasota woman Melissa Bakondy launched into an angry tirade accusing school board member Tom Edwards of corrupting young children sexually, while also questioning why schools allowed Edwards to read books to their students.

'Shocking' ban of book about Holocaust survivor's granddaughter in DeSantis' Florida

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has empowered state and local officials to remove classroom and library books that they deem offensive, and author Jodi Picoult was surprised to learn this week that her book about the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor was recently targeted for a ban in Florida.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Picoult called out Martin County, Florida for removing her book "The Storyteller," in which the aforementioned granddaughter of the Holocaust survivor meets with an elderly S.S. officer.

Super PAC launches as news leaks DeSantis plans to enter 2024 presidential fray

Ron DeSantis hasn’t yet officially announced plans to enter the 2024 presidential, but the Florida governor has said privately that he intends to run, according to a Washington Post report that cites two sources with knowledge of his deliberations.

Ken Cuccinelli, a former Trump official, on Thursday launched a super PAC called “Never Back Down” that aims to draft DeSantis to run for president next year, the report said. Cuccinelli under Trump served as the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service’s acting director.
