'They're going to turn to the bullet': Extremism expert sounds the alarm over MAGA rage

Supporters of former President Donald Trump are growing increasingly enraged over their political defeats — and more likely to turn to violence, extremism analyst Tim Wise warned in an interview with Salon's Chauncey DeVega that was published on Thursday.

His warning follows a number of high-profile recent murders driven by white supremacy, most prominently the shooting in Jacksonville which some Democrats have blamed on a climate of backlash over racial diversity accelerated by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

A plurality of Trump voters count DeSantis as their second choice, and vice versa.

A little over one-third—34%—of potential Trump voters would vote for DeSantis if Trump were to drop out of the race, according to a new Morning Consult poll. And when it comes to potential DeSantis voters, 37% would jump to the Trump campaign should he drop out.

Pastor regrets asking DeSantis to speak at vigil for race-based shooting: report

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was recently booed while speaking at a vigil for a racially motivated shooting in his own state, and the pastor who passed him the mic says it was a "mistake" doing so.

DeSantis, who is also attempting to beat Donald Trump in the race for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, has already taken flack for the shooting. Just last month, Florida state Rep. Angie Nixon (D) attributed attacks on people of color in her state to DeSantis and his war against "woke."

'Their heads explode': Major GOP donors are flipping out as Trump closes in on nomination

Republican Party fundraisers are running into major roadblocks when they approach big-money donors they have counted on in the past because there is little interest in seeing a 2024 GOP ticket headed by Donald Trump again.

According to a report from the New York Times, wealthy conservatives who gave freely in 2016 and 2020 with Trump as the presidential candidate are balking at coughing up any money for his 2024 run that seems "inevitable" based upon polling.
