Donald Trump kicked off his July 4th weekend with a Truth Social post in which he ranted that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis will drop all charges against him – despite the fact that she has yet to charge him with anything.
While the former president is facing 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in Manhattan and a 37-count indictment in federal court in Miami that includes accusations of violating the Espionage Act, Willis is not expected to file any charges until early August.
Nonetheless, Trump boldly pressed on in his Truth Social posting, first writing, "I predict that the Racist District Attorney in Atlanta, with the per capita WORST crime record in the Country, Fani Willis, where murderers 'get away with murder,' and are seldom charged and almost never prosecuted, will be dropping all charges against me for lack of a case."
That having been suggested, he ranted that he has been unfairly maligned over his phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger where he sought more votes after he realized he lost Georgia's Electoral College votes to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
"I made a PERFECTLY LEGAL PHONE CALL, AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, ABOUT AN ELECTION THAT I STRONGLY FEEL WAS RIGGED AND STOLLEN (sic). NONE of the MANY LAWYERS on the call minded my words, or even hinted at wrongdoing."
For emphasis, he finished his message with the word "SCAM!"
