Virtually zero chance we won't hear from Robert Mueller again: Andrew Napolitano
Special counsel Robert Mueller announced on Wednesday that he was resigning from his position and closing down his special counsel office.
"There has been discussion about any appearance before Congress," Mueller said. “Any testimony from this office would not go beyond our report. It contains our findings and analysis, and the reasons for the decisions we made. We chose those words carefully, and the work speaks for itself."
But Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano doubts this is the last we'll hear of the longtime Department of Justice official.
"Once Bob Mueller is no longer an employee of the Justice Department, which as I understand will be case by the end of the day today, he can be subpoenaed by Jerry Nadler and the Judiciary committee just like everybody else," Napolitano said.
“He has no privilege. The president has no ability to assert a privilege and he will has to testify. They may want him to testify in secret, which will be gravely disappointing to the American public who would like to see him questioned. I would like to have seen him questioned today. But there is no way for him to avoid or evade that subpoena which we know will come."
