Man who bought Kyle Rittenhouse his assault-style rifle used in Kenosha killings will take plea deal

The man who bought Kyle Rittenhouse the gun used to kill two people in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and injure a third when he was just 17 is expected to take a plea deal to avoid convictions on the two felony charges. Dominick Black, now 20, purchased the Smith & Wesson M&P 15 rifle for Rittenhouse at a hardware store in May 2020. Three months later, the teenager used it to kill Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and wound Gaige Grosskreutz during the Kenosha protests. Marjorie Taylor Greene wants a longer waiting period for new Florida voters than to buy an AR-15

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) made news this week after she began promoting secession, which she has coined as a "national divorce." But another part of her statement is being ignored that advocated for restrictions on Democrats voting, but not for Republicans.

According to Greene, there should be a "waiting period" for Democrats before they can vote in a new state when they move. Ironically, such a "waiting period" would be longer than for a mass shooter to purchase an automatic weapon for their attack.

Ex-Marine aims to flip Missouri's red-state Senate seat with fiery populism -- and 'tough love' for  Dems

Lucas Kunce is a Democrat running for an open U.S. Senate seat in 2022 in Missouri. He is by far the leading campaign fundraiser in his party, having amassed more than double the amount of his nearest opponent.

But when it comes to looking or sounding like a traditional Democratic candidate, that’s about the end of it. Kunce is the quintessential outsider, leaning heavily on raw populist messaging that in the Trump era has been hijacked in Missouri and elsewhere -- however disingenuously -- by Republicans.

Washington Post explains why charging parents of under-age mass shooters must be the next step

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story claimed that Rittenhouse carried his weapon across state lines. This is incorrect. Prosecutors of the case said there is no evidence this happened and in October 2020, the Office of the State's Attorney in Lake County said that an "investigation revealed the gun used in the Kenosha shooting was purchased, stored and used in Wisconsin. Additionally, there is no evidence the gun was ever physically possessed by Kyle Rittenhouse in Illinois.” Raw Story regrets the error.

The Washington Post editorial board columns have slowed as former President Donald Trump left the White House. But in the wake of the Oxford, Michigan mass shooting, the group announced that it agreed with the decision to prosecute parents of underage mass shooters who they gave illegal access to guns.

Gun-owners put on notice after arrest of Ethan Crumbley's parents: legal analyst

According to MSNBC legal analyst Danny Cevallos, the arrest and involuntary manslaughter indictments of James and Jennifer Crumbley, after their 15-year-old son Ethan used a handgun they bought him to murder four of his classmates, should serve as a warning to gun-owners that prosecutors are going to be more aggressive about gun-related attacks.

The Michigan parents were taken into custody early Saturday morning as they hid in an industrial park 40 miles from their community instead of turning themselves in to law enforcement for processing.

'We haven't seen any remorse': Michigan sheriff describes 'sullen' Crumbley's jailhouse stay

Appearing on MSNBC on Saturday afternoon, the Michigan sheriff overseeing the incarceration of James and Jennifer Crumbley as they seek to come up with bail of $500,000 each after being charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, said they and their son are being uncommunicative and "sullen" after the parents were taken into custody early Saturday morning.

Hours after the couple -- whose 15-year-old son Ethan was arrested for shooting and killing four classmates and wound seven others at his high school on Tuesday -- were taken into custody by a joint law enforcement task force that included a SWAT team, the sheriff was asked what their "demeanor" is like as they sit in their respective jail cells.
