The swift growth of artificial intelligence technology could put the future of humanity at risk, according to most Americans surveyed in a Reuters/Ipsos poll published on Wednesday.

More than two-thirds of Americans are concerned about the negative effects of AI and 61% believe it could threaten civilization.

Since OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot became the fastest growing application of all time, the widespread integration of AI into everyday life has catapulted AI to the forefront of public discourse. ChatGPT has kicked off an AI arms race, with tech heavyweights like Microsoft and Google vying to outdo each other's AI accomplishments.

IRS whistleblower who alleged political interference in Hunter Biden investigation taken off case: report

An IRS whistleblower who claimed to have evidence that the investigation into Hunter Biden was mishandled and plagued with political interference has been removed from the case, reported CNN on Tuesday.

"Attorneys for the whistleblower sent a letter on Monday to a series of House and Senate Committee chairmen informing them of the change, adding that the whistleblower’s investigative team has also been taken off the case, according to a copy of the letter obtained by CNN," reported Alayna Treene and Sara Murray. "The attorneys — including Tristan Leavitt, President of Empower Oversight, and Mark Lytle — added that the whistleblower was 'informed the change was at the request of the Department of Justice.'"

Former Architect of the Capitol Brett Blanton saw money withheld from his final paycheck in order to pay back the federal government for U.S. taxpayer money that was "misused," according to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA).

Grassley shared a letter from Acting Architect of the Capitol Chere Rexroat that said about $12,500 was withheld from Blanton's final paycheck because he refused to repay the money himself. The remaining amount, about $1,400, was repaid through insurance, NBC News reported.
