Newsmax host lays out ridiculous conspiracy theory about Nancy Pelosi wanting Justice Brett Kavanaugh killed

Newsmax host Chris Salcedo recently laid out a bizarre theory suggesting that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was part of a plot to have U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh killed so President Joe Biden could nominate a replacement.

On Tuesday, June 14, Salcedo spoke with Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) where he noted that the top-ranking Democratic lawmaker had been responsible for holding up the passing of legislation to enhance security measures for justices and members of their families.

Steve Bannon trying to shield at least one conversation with Trump from Jan. 6 investigators

Steve Bannon is trying to keep at least one conversation with Donald Trump shielded from the House select committee.

The one-time White House strategist wants to claim executive privilege to avoid testifying before the panel that's investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection, and his attorney David Schoen referred twice to the conversation as he tries to avoid prosecution for contempt of Congress, reported The Daily Beast.

With US consumers 'getting fleeced,' Democrats demand windfall profits tax on Big Oil

Progressive members of Congress on Wednesday ramped up calls for a windfall profits tax on oil giants after President Joe Biden pleaded directly with Exxon, BP, Shell, and other companies to boost production instead of just padding their bottom lines—and hitting consumers with huge cost increases.

"I understand that many factors contributed to the business decisions to reduce refinery capacity, which occurred before I took office," Biden wrote in letters to the top executives of seven major oil corporations on Tuesday. "But at a time of war, refinery profit margins well above normal being passed directly onto American families are not acceptable."

MAGA candidate grovels before Trump and apologizes for losing to Nancy Mace

Following her defeat in the primary for South Carolina's 1st Congressional District, far-right candidate Katie Arrington gave a speech in which she apologized to former President Donald Trump for her failure to unseat GOP Rep. Nancy Mace.

"I'm sorry I couldn't give you the birthday present that I wanted to give you," Arrington said, addressing Trump directly, "but you will always be my number 45, my number 46" — an apparent sideswipe at the legitimacy of President Joe Biden.

Republicans flip US House seat in South Texas in historically Democratic stronghold

Republican Mayra Flores prevailed Tuesday in a special election for an open congressional seat in South Texas, marking a major breakthrough for Republicans eager to blaze new inroads in the historically blue region.

She beat Dan Sanchez, the leading Democrat, outright in the closely watched race and will be the first Mexican-born congresswoman. She will get to serve only until January, but Republicans heralded her win as a shot of momentum in their new South Texas offensive.

With all precincts reporting Tuesday night, Flores had 50.98% of the vote and Sanchez had 43.33%. There were two other, lesser-known candidates — Democrat Rene Coronado and Republican Juana “Janie” Cantu-Cabrera — in the race.

How the Arizona GOP is 'keeping MAGA nation in a fevered lather' with their 'Trump Denial Syndrome'

Three Trump-endorsed Republicans running for statewide office are suffering from "Trump Denial Syndrome," an Arizona Republican columnist wrote in a column published only on Tuesday afternoon.

Columnist Laurie Roberts described the infection, which she abbreviated as "TDS," as "a condition in which a politician or political activist abandons all logic and reason and irrationally promotes the fantasy that mysterious and as yet unidentified nefarious forces conspired to steal the 2020 election from Donald Trump. The condition can be identified by a decided tendency to have little regard for facts. TDS is especially prevalent among Arizona Republicans running for public office this summer."

New testimony will show how John Eastman continued his plots to overturn 2020 election even after January 6

On Tuesday, POLITICO reported that the January 6 Committee has evidence that pro-Trump lawyer John Eastman continued pushing his schemes to overturn the 2020 presidential election — even after the attack on the U.S. Capitol had taken place.

" Trump White House attorney Eric Herschmann told the select committee — in video testimony revealed publicly Tuesday afternoon — that he received an unexpected phone call on Jan. 7, 2021, from John Eastman, the attorney who played an instrumental role in Trump’s last-ditch strategy to subvert the election," reported Kyle Cheney. "In Herschmann’s telling, Eastman immediately asked him about 'something dealing with Georgia and preserving something potentially for appeal.'"

Trump supporters are victims of the Big Lie scam -- but you don't have to feel sorry for them

One of the bigger revelations during the Monday House hearing about the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol is that the scope of the House committee's investigation had grown beyond Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the election. We learned on Monday that they also have evidence that Trump used his coup as a means for financial fraud.

During the entire two and a half months between Election Day and Jan. 6, Trump was shaking down his gullible supporters for cash that he claimed would help fight "election fraud." Those funds, however, largely appeared to go into the pockets of Trump and his allies.

Border officers circulate coin memorializing treatment of Haitian migrants in Del Rio, Texas

A controversial moment captured last fall on the U.S. southern border of an officer on horseback in Del Rio, Texas, has been memorialized on “a challenge coin” that is circulating among border patrol officers. Images of the incident led to a public outcry and national scandal, with President Joe Biden demanding accountability for the officers and the Department of Homeland Security launching an independent investigation into the treatment of migrants there. Nearly a year later, the results of the investigation still have not been made public. The unofficial coin, a token of memorabilia, embrac...

New photos show the pained expressions of Trump's inner circle on election night as they realized they lost

A series of photos taken on election night, 2020, show members of former President Donald Trump's family and campaign team looking distressed as it became more and more apparent that Joe Biden was going to be the winner, ABC News reports.

"The photos, taken by a White House photographer and published exclusively in the book, 'Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show,' are a visual representation of the testimony of senior Trump advisers who told the House Jan. 6 committee that they did not believe Donald Trump should declare victory on election night," ABC's report stated.
