Lin Wood says Fulton DA is preparing to serve him subpoena: report

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is preparing to serve a subpoena from one of the most prominent purveyors of Donald Trump's "big lie" as part of the investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

"Fulton County prosecutors are planning to seek the testimony of conservative Atlanta attorney L. Lin Wood as a special grand jury continues its examination of whether former President Donald Trump and his allies broke any laws as they sought to overturn Georgia’s 2020 elections," The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.

'Let's do it': Steve Bannon plots for 'new election' to reinstate Trump 'this week'

Conservative podcaster Steve Bannon on Tuesday agreed with former President Donald Trump's plan to retake the White House by nullifying President Joe Biden's 2020 win with a "new election."

"We're never giving up," Bannon told Rudy Giuliani on his War Room: Pandemic podcast. "Trump put up last night that, hey, because of the Hunter [Biden] situation, because the FBI guy either getting fired or quitting, because of Facebook saying the FBI told them not to do it that he wants -- that he won and he wants another election immediately."

Georgia criminal investigation poses greatest threat to Trump

Prime-time congressional hearings and an unprecedented FBI raid on his home have ramped up legal pressures on Donald Trump, but analysts say a slow-moving, lower key investigation in Georgia could be the case that finally brings him down.

'Cowering in your house': How Michael Flynn’s private security group moved into Staci Burk’s home

Two weeks after the 2020 election, Staci Burk was sinking ever deeper into a mire of intrigue, with a series of suspicious incidents at her home reinforcing a sense that she was in danger.

She spoke to a woman in Seattle who claimed to have seen illegal ballots at a FedEx facility but was reluctant to come forward. She talked to a group of Trump partisans who claimed to have uncovered a similar incident at the Phoenix airport. Then, two men appeared at her doorway and disabled her home security system.

Then, a man named Scott Koch who claimed to work with the Department of Defense, made a bizarre confession that he was personally involved in illegal ballot trafficking. Surrounded by election deniers, it was easy for Burk to at least question whether shadowy forces were at work to cover up widespread election fraud.

GOP governor Brian Kemp must testify in Fulton special grand jury proceeding after Nov. 8 election

A Fulton County judge has ordered Gov. Brian Kemp to testify in a special grand jury investigation into former President Donald Trump and associates’ attempts to interfere in the 2020 election.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney ruled Monday that Kemp will appear before the grand jury following the Nov. 8 election in which the Republican will face Democrat Stacey Abrams. McBurney rejected arguments that the governor should not be forced to testify because of sovereign immunity, which protects the state from being sued without its consent, and dismissed claims that the Fulton court had no power to enforce the subpoena.

Rudy Giuliani throws a tantrum demanding Biden 'be tried for crimes against humanity'

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani argued on Sunday that President Joe Biden "should be tried for crimes against humanity."

During his Sunday radio program on WABC, Giuliani accused Democrats of lying about the search of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate and lying about the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Legal experts pan Trump lawyers' Friday night do-over motion against Mar-a-Lago search

Donald Trump's attorneys filed an 11-page Friday night motion after Judge Aileen Cannon made them restructure their filing for a special master to oversee the documents recovered when the FBI executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago.

"The filing, which was billed as a 'supplement' to Trump’s meandering initial bid on Monday, was notable, however, for what it didn’t include," Politico reported. "It makes no mention of the hundreds of pages of classified documents recovered during the Aug. 8 search and in previous visits by investigators. It also makes no mention of Trump’s claims to have declassified the material. It also eschews the heated criticism Trump has leveled at Bruce Reinhart, the magistrate judge who authorized the search."

How election-denying GOP governors could tilt the 2024 presidential election

Republican candidates who claim that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump have been nominated for governor in four critical swing states, raising concerns that if elected they could try to sway election results in 2024 and beyond.

In Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, Republican primary voters elected a candidate who has denied the results of the 2020 election and believes that voter fraud influenced the results. GOP voters also nominated an election-denying candidate in Maryland, though he has less chance of winning in a blue state.

Many more Republican gubernatorial candidates have questioned whether the 2020 election was legitimate or refused to say that President Joe Biden was the rightful winner. But these five are more vocal election deniers, who would be willing to call for audits or move to decertify results.

Judge to rule soon if Kemp can be forced to comply with Fulton grand jury subpoena

A Fulton County judge will decide whether Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp must testify before a special grand jury after prosecutors and state attorneys sparred in court Thursday over the investigation into possible interference in the 2020 election.

Kemp’s attorneys argued before Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney that Kemp is protected under state law from forced compliance with a subpoena. Fulton prosecutors issued the subpoena after their negotiations with the governor’s lawyers for a voluntary appearance turned sour.

Kemp’s legal team has accused Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis of targeting Kemp for political reasons and argues the governor shouldn’t have to appear before the jury until after the Nov. 8 election when Kemp faces a challenge from Democratic nominee Stacey Abrams.

‘Incomprehensible’: George Conway pans Trump’s unqualified legal team

Prominent conservative attorney George Conway had harsh words for Donald Trump's legal advisors during a Thursday evening appearance on CNN.

"Not long after the National Archives acknowledged in February that it had retrieved 15 boxes of presidential records from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, Trump began fielding calls from Tom Fitton, a prominent conservative activist," CNN reported. "Fitton, the longtime head of the legal activist group Judicial Watch, had a simple message for Trump — it was a mistake to give the records to the Archives, and his team should never have let the Archives “strong-arm” him into returning them, according to three sources familiar with the matter."

Federal court filing challenges claim that Trump rescinded controversial special counsel appointment

Patrick Bergy, a former Department of Defense contract information assurance security officer who was embedded with a group of pro-Trump conspiracy theorists in Washington, DC following the 2020 election, is publicly questioning an account by his one-time benefactor, Patrick Byrne, the former Overstock.com CEO.

Last week, Byrne filed a sworn declaration in the federal case for the search warrant executed at former President Donald Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago in south Florida. While the purpose of Byrne’s affidavit remains unclear, it included an intriguing tidbit of information relevant to a widely reported Dec. 18, 2020 meeting in which Byrne, retired Lt. General Michael Flynn and attorney Sidney Powell visited Trump in the Oval Office. During the contentious meeting, which devolved into a shouting match with White House lawyers, Byrne, Flynn and Powell reportedly urged Trump to use the Department of Homeland Security or the National Guard to seize voting machines. At the end of the meeting, Trump reportedly appointed Powell to the position of special counsel.
