Trump's 'America sucks' Thanksgiving weekend meltdown torn apart by Morning Joe panel

Led by co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mike Brzezinski, MSNBC's "Morning Joe" panel on Monday ripped into Donald Trump for his 2 AM Thanksgiving morning rage-post on Truth Social, which was followed by a holiday weekend of more angry diatribes on the social media platform.

The segment kicked off with the two hosts alternately reading segments of the post that began, "Happy Thanksgiving to ALL, including the Racist & Incompetent Attorney General of New York State, Letitia 'Peekaboo' James, who has let Murder & Violent Crime FLOURISH, & Businesses FLEE; the Radical Left Trump Hating Judge, a 'Psycho,' Arthur Engoron, who Criminally Defrauded the State of New York, & ME, by purposely Valuing my Assets at a “tiny” Fraction of what they are really worth in order to convict me of Fraud before even a Trial," before the former president concluded with raging at, "all of the other Radical Left Lunatics, Communists, Fascists, Marxists, Democrats, & RINOS, who are seriously looking to DESTROY OUR COUNTRY. Have no fear, however, we will WIN the Presidential Election of 2024, & MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

Noting the four-times indicted president's post wasn't exactly in the Thanksgiving spirit, host Scarborough summed it and other posts throughout the weekend as Trump stating unequivocally "America sucks."

"Talk about how sick it is to say that America is a rotten nation before you were president of the United States, American carnage, and then you become president of the United States and America has four of the most tumultuous years later, and the second he leaves and is blamed by the American people, he goes back to saying that America sucks again," said Scarborough. "How grotesque that Donald Trump only thinks America is great when Donald Trump is president."

"Yeah, because he doesn't care about America nearly as much as he cares about himself," replied former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO).

Florida university turns on 'charlatan' DeSantis ally: report

Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo also holds a side gig as a tenured professor at the University of Florida -- but a new report from Politico suggests he's done little at the university to earn his hefty $262,000 annual salary there.

In dozens of interviews, Politico found deep concern among both faculty at the university and some Florida state lawmakers that Ladapo was given a sweetheart appointment with little scrutiny that has allowed him to rake in money despite apparently doing little work.

House GOPers gunning for Gaetz as ethics probe expands to 'broader range' of violations

Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-FL) role as the ringleader behind the ouster of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has created enduring resentment among more than a few of the Florida Republican's House colleagues who have grown weary of his grandstanding ways.

According to a report from the Daily Beast's Sam Brodey, Gaetz's unpopularity among Republicans he serves with in the House has grown with one Republican telling the Beast, "There aren’t a lot of people who, you know, are gonna go out of their way to defend Matt Gaetz. I mean, he’s a pretty diabolical character.”

Trump lawyers under fire for stonewalling prosecutors in Stormy Daniels hush money case

Prosecutors working out of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office are asking the judge in the Stormy Daniels hush money case to intercede and force Donald Trump's lawyers to provide a list of their expert witnesses after stonewalling them for months.

That case has been lost in the shuffle as the former president battles a $250 million financial fraud lawsuit in another Manhattan courtroom, a racketeering case in Georgia, an obstruction of justice federal trial in Florida and a trial in Washington D.C. tied to his actions surrounding the Jan. 6 insurrection.

According to a report from the Daily Beast's Jose Pagliery, Manhattan prosecutors have taken the next step and asked Judge Juan Merchan to compel Trump's legal team to provide them with their proposed list of expert witnesses, with accusations they are trying to "sabotage" the trial and extend it out as long as possible.

As the report notes, the former president was charged with 34 felony counts related to paying off adult film star Stormy Daniels about an alleged affair at the time Trump was making his first bid for the presidency.

The Beast's Pagliery reports the pre-trial exchange of information between the prosecutors and the defense team is "not going well."

'Tanks rolling down Main Street': Experts alarmed at Trump's plans for military

Former President Donald Trump and his allies have hinted that they will deploy the military in American cities in a second term to quell domestic unrest, and experts who spoke with the Associated Press expressed alarm about what that could mean for American democracy.

At the heart of these plans is the Insurrection Act, which gives the president broad powers to deploy the military to put down violent domestic uprisings.

Leaders downplay whether Trump can destroy the U.S. — and ignore he's already done a lot

Political, congressional and judicial leaders think that Donald Trump may try to overthrow the United States in 2025, but they're downplaying the seriousness that it can happen.

A report from "The Messenger" interviewed "more than 20 people ... from across the political spectrum, including Democratic and GOP lawmakers, former senior DOJ leaders, Trump critics and the former president’s first-term lawyers, aides and advisors." Each was asked about the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025, which would make good on Trump's past efforts to fire anyone working in the government who doesn't support him. Each doesn't anticipate Trump will be able to accomplish his task of putting his foes in prison and making up the government his own personal fiefdom.

Trump thinks evangelicals have no control over him anymore and will fall in line for 2024

Donald Trump appears to be aware that his far-right policies aren't going to work in a general election against Joe Biden, so he is ready to begin moderating himself when it comes to women's rights.

Rolling Stone reporters Tessa Stuwart and Asawin Suebsaeng spoke to "people familiar" who say Trump has privately complained about anti-abortion leaders and said he should be able to do whatever he wants on the issue. He thinks they have no "leverage" to force him to do what they want.

The danger is to the entire courthouse — and Trump's intentions are clear: legal expert

If Donald Trump cared about his impact on the people he attacks, he would have stopped after seeing the 275 pages of single-spaced threats just one staffer in the New York court received.

Speaking to MSNBC about the matter on Sunday, former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance, who co-hosts the "Sisters In Law" podcast, explained that it's actions like these that will ultimately hurt Trump.

'Let me clarify': Fox News host busts GOP lawmaker for claiming Biden supports terrorists

Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) got fact-checked by a Fox host on Sunday after he tried to claim that President Joe Biden was following the pro-terrorism branch of his party.

"He has to be careful he doesn't get weak in Israel because he's trying to appeal, as well, to the Palestinians more than, especially, the people in Hamas as well as others within his party," Van Drew began.

Official lay dying unnoticed in DeSantis' office for 24 minutes: law enforcement report

Peter Antonacci left a meeting with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) on Sept. 23, 2022, and several moments later, he was dead mere steps from the room. No one noticed. It has been over a year, and the information about the incident is only now being revealed.

Florida Bulldog reported Sunday that the man DeSantis hired to head up his so-called "elections fraud unit" lay dead or dying in the governor's office before anyone noticed. With security cameras turned to watch, for 24 minutes, Antonacci lay motionless on the ground.

Court rules dictate Trump must be gagged: former prosecutor

Donald Trump's lawyers claim that his First Amendment rights as a presidential candidate supersede the rules for criminal and civil court, explained former federal prosecutor Barbara McQuade.

Calling it an "apples and oranges" situation, Trump's lawyers are working to frame their argument within the context of the general world in which Americans live. That's not where Trump is, however. He's in a criminal trial and a civil trial, both of which have their own court rules.
