'Why are you still fighting?': 'Duck Dynasty' mom slams Trump -- doubts he'll make it to 2020
In a candid interview with CNN, "Duck Dynasty" co-star Korie Robertson said that her family is divided on the topic of whether President Donald Trump is good for the country.
When asked whether she plans to vote for him in 2020, the mother of six laughed and said, "I can't answer that right now," seeming to leave up in the air the question as to whether Trump will still be around at the end of his four-year term in the White House.
Robertson said that it's time for Trump to "stop fighting" and bring the country together.
"I just feel like, it's exhausting," Robertson said. "Like, why are you still fighting? What are you trying to prove at this point? Let's come together and be a leader that unifies, that brings people together. And that's, I think, what we need right now."
Robertson said that she reluctantly cast her vote for Trump and that it was mainly due to her opposition to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's views on abortion.
Of her children, three are adopted. One adopted son is racially mixed and a daughter is Asian, adopted from Taiwan.
"If we had thought for one second that Donald Trump was racist in any way, we wouldn't have ever voted for him," Robertson said.
However, his bungling of the administration's response to Charlottesville, she said, has given white supremacists political and ideological cover from the administration.
"Somehow, they are thinking that he is accepting them," she said.
The most revealing moment of the interview, however, came at the end, when she was asked whether she will vote for Trump again.
She laughed, paused, then said, "Well, I think we'll just...wait and see if that becomes an issue. I can't answer that right now."
