Internet lampoons Trumpworld’s Georgia mugshots: 'You will never be David Bowie'

Mugshots of nine of former President Donald Trump's indicted co-defendants are now circulating following their surrender to authorities in Fulton County, Georgia to face the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act charges filed by District Attorney Fani Willis for their alleged attempted theft of the 2020 election.

Ex-Georgia Republican Party Chair Cathy Latham, bail bondsman Scott Hall, and conservative lawyer John Eastman — author of the infamous "coup memo" instructing then-Vice President Mike Pence to reject President-elect Joe Biden's Electoral College votes — had their booking photos released on Tuesday. On Wednesday, ex-Georgia State Senator David Shafer (R-48th District), Trump lawyers Kenneth Chesebro, Ray Smith, Jenna Ellis, "Kraken" Sidney Powell, and Rudy Giuliani — New York City's erstwhile mayor — turned themselves in.

Biden unsurprised by report of Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin's death

By Steve Holland and Jonathan Landay SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, California (Reuters) -U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday said he was not surprised by reports that Russian mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin had died in a plane crash, adding that not much happens in the country that President Vladimir Putin is not behind. Analysts said the incident could be a way for Putin to warn others who might betray him or to show his support to the Russian military, whom Prigozhin undermined with an abortive armed mutiny in June. Prigozhin was listed as a passenger on a private jet that crashed on Wednesday eveni...

How 'King' Trump and 'court jester' Giuliani think they will get through this: analyst

CNN political analyst Gloria Borger on Wednesday likened Rudy Giuliani to a “court jester” for Donald Trump in what she described as a “Shakespearean” episode.

Borger's comment came during an appearance on “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer” that followed the former Trump lawyer’s release on $150,000 bond after he was booked on 13 charges in connection with the 2020 election interference case in Fulton County, Georgia.

Tommy Tuberville turns his battle on Pentagon abortion policy into waging war against individual U.S. military officers

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), the far-right hard-core conservative who since February has been single-handedly holding up the promotions of over 300 U.S. Military officers, has now expanded his fight from a battle against the Pentagon's policy supporting service members needing to travel out-of-state to obtain abortion services into a war whose targets are individuals: career U.S. Military officers awaiting promotions.

Among the reasons for the attacks: one officer allegedly "joined a 'Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion panel,'" and one "celebrated Ruth Bader Ginsburg."

Why Tim Scott — yes, Tim Scott! — is Trump’s biggest threat at tonight’s debate

There may yet come a day — in a month, in a year, on Ronald Reagan’s birthday — when Donald Trump, for any of several reasons, involuntarily crashes or flames out of the 2024 Republican primary as his party’s all-but-presumptive presidential nominee.

And that’s why in tonight’s first Republican presidential debate, pay acute attention — amid Chris Christie’s bellowing and Ron DeSantis’ parrying and Mike Pence’s contortionism — to a man who’s polling around 3 percent nationally.

'Little people' charged with Trump are 'on their own' because Georgia GOP already exposed them as 'liars': Morning Joe

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough identified one key difference between former President Donald Trump and his indicted allies in the Georgia scheme to overturn the 2020 election result.

The former president pressured state officials to take part in the scheme to reverse his loss to Joe Biden, but those Republican elected leaders refused, recorded evidence against him and publicly disputed his claims of fraud -- which the "Morning Joe" host said has left local GOP officials who have been charged in the case with little political protection.
