'Abject stupidity': Barr admits Trump tried to get the Ukrainians to open investigations

As Russia invades Ukraine, Trump's relationship with Vladimir Putin is being seen in a whole new light.

In Aug. 2019, as former Attorney General Bill Barr went on his first vacation while serving under Donald Trump's presidency and Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman had just filed a whistleblower report about what he overheard during Trump's call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to Barr's new book One Damn Thing After Another.

REVEALED: Bill Barr can't stand Rudy Giuliani -- and blames him for Trump's impeachment

Bill Barr's new book, One Damn Thing After Another, was released Tuesday and if there's one consistency, it's that he doesn't have many nice things to say about Rudy Giuliani.

Barr recalls the Ukraine scandal and how annoyed he was that former President Donald Trump had made it sound like Barr was lumped in along with his attorneys, like Giuliani. That disgust continues during the arrival ceremony for the Australian delegation.

Audit quashes conspiracy theories about widespread election fraud in Michigan

The Michigan Office of the Auditor General debunked conspiracy theories about widespread election fraud, concluding in a report released Friday that local and state officials conducted accurate audits of the election that found little to no irregularities.

The office found no evidence of fraud and said the post-election audits were sufficient, with some exceptions, contradicting repeated claims by former President Donald Trump and his loyalists who have insisted Joe Biden stole the election.

These military experts believe World War 3 is now a very real possibility: report

Although President Joe Biden and the United States’ European NATO allies have responded to Russian troops’ horrific invasion of Ukraine with tough economic sanctions, they have yet to intervene militarily. Biden — at least so far — has said that there will be no “boots on the ground” from the U.S. or NATO.

Nonetheless, fears that the Russia/Ukraine conflict will become a broader conflict persist. In an article published by Politico on March 4, Brussels, Belgium-based journalist David M. Herszenhorn lays out some disturbing scenarios in which Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine could escalate into World War 3.

Top midwestern paper calls out the GOP for allowing white nationalists to 'flourish' in scathing editorial

On Monday, the editorial board of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch took the Republican party to task for doing virtually nothing to clamp down on members of their caucus for appearing at a white nationalist convention in Florida and aligning themselves with some of the leaders of the growing racist movement that gained strength during Donald Trump's four years as president.

White House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) did condemn Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ), but the paper's editors believe the GOP leadership has not done enough.

Former Trump official name-checks conservatives with 'blood on their hands' for Ukraine invasion

Beginning with his testimony at Donald Trump's first impeachment trial, former national security aide Alexander Vindman hasn't held back on his assessments of how certain Republicans basically have become Russian assets working within the United States. In a new interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Vindman accused US Sen. Ron Johnson, former president Trump, Mike Pompeo and Fox's Tucker Carlson of having "blood on their hands" for Vladimir Putin's unprovoked attack on Ukraine.

Vindman says all three of them undermined U.S. national security and helped create the environment in which Putin was emboldened to assault Ukraine. "Civilians are dying, Ukrainians are providing a formidable defense, defending democracy for Americans as well as for themselves and their homes. And Ron Johnson is trying to distract and obfuscate," Vindman said.

America is finally cleaning up its abandoned, leaking oil wells

Bill Suan bought his family's cattle farm in the mountains of West Virginia a decade-and-a-half ago with little thought for the two gas wells drilled on the property -- but then they started leaking oil onto his fields and sickening his cows.

After taking the operator to court, Suan was successful in plugging one well, but the company has since disappeared, leaving him to contend with a small-scale environmental disaster that's a symptom of the larger problem of orphaned oil wells across the United States.
