Trump is 'losing the whole ballgame' with judges after latest setback: CNN

Reacting to a U.S. Court of Appeals order that slapped aside Donald Trump's hope of keeping former Vice President Mike Pence from appearing before a grand jury investigating efforts to subvert the 2020 presidential election results, a CNN legal analysts called it another in a long line of losses for the former president – with no end in sight.

According to the Associated Press, "It was not immediately clear what day Pence might appear before the grand jury, which for months has been investigating the events preceding the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and efforts by Trump and his allies to subvert the election outcome.

'Watch out': Trump lawyer Tacopina cautioned before E. Jean Carroll cross-examination

On Thursday Donald Trump attorney Joe Tacopina is slated to cross-examine New York writer E. Jean Carroll after her devastating testimony on Wednesday where she described being sexually assaulted by the now former president decades ago and a CNN panel pointed out that the Trump attorney will need to tread delicately before the jury.

Sitting down with "CNN This Morning" co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins, political analyst John Avlon called Carroll's testimony on Wednesday "heartwrenching" before noting Tacopina's history of being brusque and then adding it will not play well in a trial over rape allegations.

The Manhattan district attorney's office has asked a judge overseeing Donald Trump's criminal case to bar the former president from publicly using evidence, citing a "safety risk."
