MSNBC panel mocks Steve Bannon after he bizarrely declares ‘the end of the patriarchy’
On Friday, former White House adviser Steve Bannon sat down with MSNBC's Ari Melber in an exclusive interview.
During the interview, Bannon gave contradicting support for the Time's Up movement and the #MeToo movement.
He first called the Time's Up movement the "end of the patriarchy." When asked by Melber to clarify, he said, "I'm not 100 percent with it, but I can see how it is powerful."
Center for American Progress president Neera Tanden slammed him as being a charlatan.
"Let me just say on the whole issue of Time's Up, I might agree with him in the power of the Time's Up movement, but frankly, the idea that you can talk about the Time's Up movement in any positive term, and then support Donald Trump, who is credibly accused by 16 women and Roy Moore who was accused of basically pedophilia demonstrates that he's a charlatan," Tanden said.
The Root's political editor, Jason Johnson, said he sounded crazy.
"The core of what he was saying is nonsense," Johnson said. "He sounds like a pimp saying, 'Hey, I got a great plan for you to pay for your college tuition.'"
