Manchin is refusing to bring down the filibuster, but he's also refusing to mandate the filibuster actually be used by senators if they want to stop legislation. As it stands currently, senators can obstruct any legislation by threatening to filibuster but not doing it.

Hundreds of Arizona people are evacuating Sunday night as the wildfires continue to creep into populated areas. Thus far over 60,000 acres have burned as two fires rage. The Telegraph Fire has burned more than 34,300 acres and the Mescal Fire has torched more than 25,900 acres, CNN.com reported.

The state has been suffering from high winds and extremely dry conditions. Thus far no injuries or deaths have been reported.

Manchin has drawn criticism from his own party, civil rights leaders, and historians with knowledge of the last centuries of Senate function. During an MSNBC segment and discussion, it was revealed that the new senator has managed to hack off both Democrats and Republicans in her attempt to play both sides on the filibuster. A CNN poll of Arizona voters showed 50 percent of Democrats hold a favorable vote of Sinema, with a 30 percent unfavorable view. If the election was held today, Sinema would lose. That can make things very difficult for Sinema to raise money for her reelection.
