For reasons passing in understanding, TMZ is still following former President Donald Trump and reporting on his golf game. On Sunday, the disgraced president couldn't make it through his own golf course and kept hitting balls into the water.

"TMZ obtained video of the moment Trump teed off for the fairway shot ... and it's pretty fascinating to see," the site wrote. "Watch for yourself -- Trump takes a few half-practice swings, with some kind of weird wobbling of the club, and then finally steps up and gives it a good whack."

George Will revealed an alarming reason for the Republican Party's opposition to investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection.

The state's top election official urged Maricopa County to replace hundreds of voting machines that had been examined by the Cyber Ninjas firm as part of the GOP-backed review of Donald Trump's election loss, which the "Morning Joe" host said never should have happened in the first place.

On May 11, Democratic Rep. Bennie G. Thompson of Mississippi announced that an agreement for a bipartisan commission on the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol Building had been reached with Republican Rep. John Katko of New York State. But despite the key role that Katko, a conservative, played in the agreement, many Republicans in Congress have been coming out against it — including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. CNN's John Berman discussed this development on the morning show "New Day" this week, stressing that even when a bipartisan agreement is reached, most Republicans don't want a real 9/11-style commission on the January 6 insurrection.

Berman, who co-hosts "New Day" with CNN's Brianna Keilar, noted that the proposed commission was "part of a bipartisan deal negotiated by Republican Congressman John Katko, who reached the agreement based on specific requests from Leader Kevin McCarthy." Katko, Berman observed, "won concessions from Democrats on nearly all the points" — and said of the agreement, "This is about facts. It's not partisan. We would have never gotten to this point if it was about partisan politics."

House minority leader Kevin McCarthy refused to answer questions about what he and other Republican lawmakers know about the Jan. 6 insurrection.

The Democratic-led House voted 252-175, with the backing of 35 GOP lawmakers, to establish a commission to investigate the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol, but McCarthy and Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell both oppose the investigation -- as does former president Donald Trump, who was impeached a second time for inciting the riot.

Another clash broke out on "The View" Thursday as Meghan McCain and Joy Behar fought over conservatives who continue to refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine to "own the libs."

McCain argued that it isn't the way conservatives feel and that many people she knows are concerned about how the vaccine impacts their fertility. Studies showed that the vaccine didn't have any adverse impact on pregnant women, but McCain said that the same studies haven't examined the fertility of women who got the shot. Presumably, all women of childbearing age could be examined for fertility who got the vaccine.

House Republicans are balking against continued masking rules, and MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and former Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele said they could end the mandate by getting vaccinated or proving that they already had.

Democratic lawmakers voted 218-210 to keep masking in place, saying they were tired of wearing face coverings, too, but expressing concern that their GOP colleagues might still be able to spread the virus.
