Survivors of the high school massacre in Parkland, Florida, vowed support on Friday for Texas students caught up in the latest deadly school shooting, saying tighter gun laws were needed to stop further bloodshed.

In an initial dive into the background and history of the Texas student who is accused of shooting up Santa Fe High School in Houston on Friday -- killing at least ten -- Heavy reports that the father of the alleged shooter was a fan of controversial NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch.

When 19-year-old Waed Alhayek was seven, she and a friend went to a convenience store near her home in Dearborn, Michigan, to get snacks for movie night. A man burst in and held up the store at gunpoint. "I thought I was going to die," she tells Raw Story. "I'm so blessed to be alive now."

An Oregon man has been arrested after he allegedly opened fire on an apartment complex, injuring two, after he became angry about loud children, reports Portland's KPTV.

On Wednesday afternoon, police officers were dispatched to a Plymouth, Minneapolis home, after receiving a call about an individual suffering head trauma, WCCO reported. When they got there they found a 7-year-old boy bleeding from the head.
