During a trip to Saudi Arabia, President Joe Biden greeted Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman with a fist bump amid White House officials working hard on the optics of the meeting between Biden and the crown prince, who intelligence agencies agree was behind the targeted killing of Washington Post journalist and political opponent Jamal Khashoggi.

As Reuters points out, White House aides said Biden would avoid handshakes during the trip as a precaution against COVID-19, but within minutes of his arrival Biden was shaking hands.

US House committee to consider assault weapons ban

Ted Cruz of Texas tweeted a melodramatic video that showed him in the dead of night in the Rio Grande Valley near the U.S./Mexico border — where he carried on about illegal immigration and human trafficking. On Friday, The Arizona Republic released a list of Republican candidates in the state of Arizona, up and down the ballot, known to deny or question the results of the 2020 presidential election.

"The results have been examined and re-examined, challenged in court and in a monthslong ballot review. No evidence has been found of widespread fraud or error in the results," said the report. "Yet candidates deny the outcome. Others don't quite go as far. But they raise questions about potential irregularities they say could have influenced the vote and should be examined.
