Trump whines that he's not getting enough support from the GOP — particularly DeSantis: report

Former President Donald Trump isn't happy about the level of support he's getting from fellow Republicans. According to CBS News reporter Bob Costa, a person close to Trump said that he's complaining about "muted response from his Republican rivals, especially from Gov. DeSantis."

His concern comes despite vocal support from many Republicans since the announcement that Trump has been indicted. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) appeared to weep before a Fox audience Thursday evening and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has threatened to go up against the NYPD in protest of the indictment.

‘Seditious scumbag’: Retired U.S. Air Force Colonel likens ‘60 minutes’ to Fox News after Marjorie Taylor Greene interview

Many journalists and political commentators have been leveling strong criticism at "60 Minutes," CBS News, and Lesley Stahl over their decision to air a "softball" interview with U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Sunday night, normalizing and mainstreaming the far-right Georgia Republican, but perhaps few have done so as expressively as retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Moe Davis.

During her conversation with Stahl, an Emmy-award winning journalist who has been at CBS News for more than 50 years, the conspiracy theorist Congresswoman baselessly defended calling Democrats the "party of pedophiles," by saying, "They support grooming children." When Stahl objected, Greene weaved a false, illogical comparison with gender-affirming treatment for transgender children – supported by every major medical organization – by saying, "Sexualizing children is what pedophiles do."

Marjorie Taylor Greene says Democratic party driven by pedophiles in controversial ‘60 Minutes’ interview

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the far-right Georgia Republican, baselessly claimed in a “60 Minutes” interview aired Sunday that the Democratic Party is driven by pedophiles. The 14-minute segment, filmed before Trump’s indictment, was the subject of controversy before the CBS broadcast, with critics questioning whether the congresswoman should receive the primetime platform. Greene, a purveyor of wild conspiracy theories, has falsely asserted that former President Barack Obama is secretly a Muslim and that Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is “guilty of treason,” adding that the crime is “punishabl...

Marjorie Taylor Greene wants to recall pandemic bailout cash — but won’t say if she’ll send back her $183,000

Speaking to CBS News' Lesley Stahl, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was forced to answer for some of her outrageous claims and behavior. But at one point, all Stahl could do was sigh and shake her head.

Among the questions were those about the debt ceiling, which will force the United States to default on the debt if Republicans refuse to raise the limit. Instead, Greene thinks the U.S. should cut spending, specifically citing the "COVID bailouts" and "green money."

Jan. 6 gave Trump 'a taste of what that violence can do': analyst

In a deep dive into how Donald Trump has ramped up the violent rhetoric since he falsely announced he was going to be arrested well over a week ago, two political insiders claimed the country is sitting on a powderkeg with the former president scheduled to turn himself in for processing after a Manhattan grand jury handed down an indictment last Thursday.

With Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) attempting to get supporters of Trump to attend a New York City rally for the now-indicted ex-president on Tuesday afternoon, longtime Republican pollster Frank Luntz expressed concern about the threat of violence.
